French

Mrs Thorpe is our specialist French teacher who supports teachers in the delivery of the North Yorkshire scheme of work for Primary French. There are six key areas of study each year as outlined below.

Our aim is that by the time they leave primary school, children will be able to understand and speak French with increasing confidence, fluency and spontaneity. As they progress through Key Stage 2, pupils will be able to write at varying length using the variety of grammatical structures that they have learnt.
